Marston...

We need to set our sights higher...

Smith would have been a BFS second or third stringer...

Nowhere near our current squad...

Haha

I think we should wait until the summer and get Remy and few others on the cheap from Chelsea when they go down.

Does Austin suit our current style...

Does he run the channels...???

Re: The Geordie's are plotting.?
I can see us letting Carroll go and then getting in touch with QPR re Austin, at which point we will be able to say 'look, no other club came in at your silly asking price, and he's not having a great season, so let's be sensible'. I'd be happy with that 'swap ' to be honest, Austin is in a shit team at the minute and I reckon he'd come good, initially determined to prove himself off the bench (in exchange for being back in the top division) and eventually challenging Sakho. Only problem is, of course, Sullivan's comment about him previously. But the way football is today I'm sure that would be quickly forgotten if Sulli came out saying he wasn'y saying what he's supposed to have said, and Austin pretending to believe him I'm return for good wages, a return to the Premier League and so on. And I know we all know what Sullivan said and it's on tape, but that hardly seems to be a big issue these days. Cf every time a player dives and someone dares criticise them on March of the Day (Harston about Moses actually springs to mind) and the next day Hartson was expected to say he never meant to suggest he'd dived despite everyone hearing it. People will believe anything when it suits them, and will put up with a lot of bullshitting when there is money involved.

Chim...

Is your second name...Panzee...???

We got Payet for 11million...

Loan with option for Lanzini...

Sakho for around 7million

Cresswell...4million...

Kouyate for 7million...

Adrian...???

Reid...3million or thereabouts...

All quality at reasonable prices...

Seek & Ye shall find...seems like we have a very good system for finding affordable quality players...

I do wonder about the bloke and if Slav will take the best of his game out of him by trying to calm him down

On his day unplayable, just does not have enough days but lets not forget he gained us 4 extra points against palace and Chelsea

One things for sure, if he soars through the air and nails the winner against the Y's he will be the hero of the hour again

stomper 7:14 Tue Nov 10
Re: The Geordie's are plotting.?
I don't think he's fully fit yet. There is also a laziness in how he's played. There's more to him than a head with a stupid man bun on top. I seem to remember he's got two pretty good feet, if we bothered to use them

Re: The Geordie's are plotting.?
"can't jump anymore" no other centre forward in the premier league would have scored thathat header against Chelsea !

You always trot this bollocks out about selling Carroll for 12 million (do you honestly think anyone is going to buy him for that money with his injury record?) and getting a 'junior Sakho', 'Benteke...Lukaku...Pelle type that is big...strong...quick ...mobile and can finish in the air and with feet... '

That is football genius right there. We're the only club in Europe looking for that kind of player, aren't we?

Care to name one we have a realistic chance of signing?

How about we sell him for 15 million and go for a Messi, Ronaldo, Neymar type of player who's relatively unknown in a South American or French league?

If only the world was as simple as you seem to think it is.

I wonder if Tevez would come back for a year or two when we move? Is he still mobile?

Texas Iron 5:09 Tue Nov 10
Re: The Geordie's are plotting.?
PS...
Bilic says a big man up front is needed for th Prem...

But not a slow immobile...player like AC that can't jump any more...and cant finish with either foot...

Need a Benteke...Lukaku...Pelle type that is big...strong...quick ...mobile and can finish in the air and with feet...

We tried to sign Yilmaz in the summer from Gala but it fell through, I see the rumour of a Jan transfer are starting to surface, Andy out, Burak in maybe.

12+million...if he stays fit and bangs in a goal or two and Toon desperate...
French League import like a Junior Sakho...

1.Yes
2.End of season but agreement made in January
3.Anything over £8m
4.Depends on who's available in the summer but Bournemouth & Watford may have a couple of contenders if they get relegated

Re: The Geordie's are plotting.?
Anything over 8 million would be great, I'd take a chance on batashuyi doumbia or pardo

Re: The Geordie's are plotting.?
Get him match fit?

Oh dear there are some deluded people still.

He's not a new signing. We've had him for a few seasons now.

He gets injured. When he's fit it's not particularly good, he doesn't fit in our system and he doesn't score that many goals.

All,in all he's a waste of space.

He's had enough chances.
